Modern wood pressure flaker with epoxied copper tip. Good
for detail, preform flaking, edge re-touch, and notching work on stone
points and tools. Sold individually.
Copper tipped hardwood pressure flaker used for removing
those small, fine edge flakes and notching.
Tip is pre-sharpened 4 gauge copper rod cemented with top of
the line epoxy into a hardwood dowel.
The copper point can be re-sharpened and shaped
by tapping with a hammer into an elongated cube, or blunt tipped pyramid (a
fine needle point has a hard time seating on a stone edge platform).
These flakers can be re-used until the copper becomes too
short, at which time the tool needs to be replaced.
Tool is approx 6.5 inches in length. Sold individually. Made
in the USA.
Professional grade pressure flaker with durable
plastic handle featuring two set screws locking in a hardened copper
nail. Allen key included for quick adjustments and nail replacement.
Graded for beginners and our own kit material, these small
spalls and flakes range from 2-4 inches in length. Mix may include:
heated keokuk chert, Georgetown flint, heat
treated novaculite, obsidian, and/or dacite. Sold by the pound
(3-5 pieces per lb).
