Metal percussion billets behave differently than
antler, are not historically correct, but do come in handy for general
flintknapping as well as tackling those problematic step fractures and over
beveled platforms.
Aluminum billets work well on heated novaculite and other
easy-to-knap materials. Especially good for smaller knapping projects up to 4
inches.
Professional grade pressure flaker with durable
plastic handle featuring two set screws locking in a hardened copper
nail. Allen key included for quick adjustments and nail replacement.
Medium size, thick and durable rubber leg pad helps
prevent damage to your clothing and leg/knee during
percussion knapping and provides support when
pressure flaking.
Graded for beginners and our own kit material, these small
spalls and flakes range from 2-4 inches in length. Mix may include:
heated keokuk chert, Georgetown flint, heat
treated novaculite, obsidian, and/or dacite. Sold by the pound
(3-5 pieces per lb).
