Hand crafted, corner notched arrow points made from India
jasper flakes. Most of these points are mountable on proper shafting,
and all will make good specimens. These range from approx 1 - 1.5 inch
long.
These modern knapped points have some great color
variety and are of better quality than most imported points seen on the market.
Base thickness varies from point to point. Large
diameter arrow shafting is recommended when making replica and
award arrows to ensure that there is adequate shaft groove width for the point.
3/8" diameter shafts tend to work well for most of these points, while some are
thin enough for 11/32" shafts.
These points are not intended for hunting or sport
archery.

Jasper and Agate, both forms of chalcedony, are opaque,
impure varieties of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in color; and
rarely blue. Like most colorful natural stones, the common red color is
due to iron inclusions in what is basically a chert. The mineral
breaks with a smooth surface, and has been used for stone tool and ornamental
jewelry manufacturing for thousands of years. Along with Heliotrope
(bloodstone), jasper is one of the traditional birthstones for March.
Though available in a variety of types occurring naturally around the world,
India sourced agate and Jasper is unique because of its variety of colors and
consistency of flaking, making this form of stone very popular for arrowheads
and spear points.
